I am a first-generation Latina transfer student from Bakersfield College in the Central Valley. My experiences as a daughter of an immigrant undocumented family, and growing up around the fields, have shaped my passion for advocacy, community involvement, and research in farm Labor History. Some interests of mine include making playlists on Spotify, dancing, scrapbooking, spending time with my loved ones, and watching Studio Ghibli Films! My career goal is rooted in empowering future generations of students. I plan to go to graduate school for History and create accessibility for the public beyond the university level. To educate communities is to empower them.
My research interests center on the History of Policy Advocacy in organizing efforts of Hispanic populations. Women of color specifically, are often left out of the narrative. I plan to look into what ecosystem allowed for the formation of this advocacy. Working as an Intern for CHIRLA and my history of volunteering with the UFW have built a curiosity about organizations and their role in unionizing groups.
